Week #30 – Managing Complexity
30-4. Managing Multiple Design Schemes

ArchiCAD Training (Best Practices Lesson 30-4)

In this ArchiCAD training lesson we look at methods to manage multiple design schemes or options within one file or using multiple files. We start with the basics: creating copies within the file or in two files; then we explore the use of layers and layer combinations, then various ways to leverage hotlinked modules.

Towards the end of this lesson, we consider Attribute management, discussing how element attributes are handled when copying or hotlinking from one file to another, and how Attribute Manager can be used to study or present different versions of the project surfaces or materials.
