You may download the course videos using the links below.
RIGHT-CLICK on the DOWNLOAD link and choose Save As or Save Target File As or a similar command (this varies depending on your browser) to save the MP4 video file to your computer. You may then open the files using QuickTime or any video player that reads MP4 files.
Thank you for visiting the Best Practices Course website. The video lessons are available for members only. If you are an active member and would like to watch the ArchiCAD training video on this page, please login to the website. Hi Eric,
I am going in circles on this page, trying to see how to download lessons 1-30. Can you tell me how to go about it step by step?
Thanks!!
Michelle
Hi Michelle –
As posted near the top of the page:
“RIGHT-CLICK on the DOWNLOAD link and choose Save As or Save Target File As or a similar command (this varies depending on your browser) to save the MP4 video file to your computer. You may then open the files using QuickTime or any video player that reads MP4 files.”
If you’re going in circles, then I’m guessing that you’re simply clicking on the DOWNLOAD link and it’s opening up a new tab in your browser (rather than downloading it as a file). You need to right-click on the DOWNLOAD link, then a popup menu will give you some options, one of which will have the word “Save” in it; this will allow you to save the file rather than opening it up within the browser.
I hope this helps. If not, please email support@bobrow.com for additional assistance.
Eric
Michelle – I checked your account and it appears that you have purchased the QuickStart Course, rather than the full Best Practices Course. If you do not own the full course, then you will not have access to the Best Practices Course lessons. You may watch the QuickStart Course lessons using the links under the QuickStart Course menu; to download those lessons use the QuickStart Course Downloads page – http://www.acbestpractices.com/member-home/quickstart-course/quickstart-course-downloads/

Eric, as a long time member of Best Practices, it’s great to see you adding to the content over time, I’m happy with the original content.
I hope you will consider updating these lessons over time as Archicad evolves. Will be continuing to support your service and AMT in future. Thanks.
Hi Paul – Thanks for your positive feedback about the content in the Best Practices Course.
I am creating a series of lessons for ArchiCAD 19 as part of the Masters of ArchiCAD Training Series. I will be making them available to course members who joined in 2015 without additional charge. For members who paid a one-time fee a while back, there will be an upgrade option available to gain access to updated lessons as we move forward.
Eric
Hi Eric
I am a member of the Best Practices Course but I am not able to download the current course lessons and i am still waiting for the lessons on the CD.Please advise.
Sangh Raj
Hi Sangh – I checked your account and everything looks good from our end. I had the website membership system send out a reminder email with your login information in case you needed it. You have full access to the Best Practices Course videos (both watching on the lesson pages and downloading from the Course Downloads page) as well as QuickStart lessons. However, your membership in the ArchiCAD Coaching Program has lapsed, so you won’t have access to those recordings unless you renew. Re the DVD set, you should have received the first 4 disks; the remaining 3 are in production now and will be released and shipped out in August.
Eric
Dear Mr. Eric,
Are you still going to add few more topics on this course?
If yes, When we see closing ceremony?
Atul Thakor
Atul – At this point, I have finished development of the Best Practices Course curriculum. While there may be a few topics that I didn’t cover (such as energy analysis) or that were only covered in passing or in coaching calls (such as BIMx), overall I’m pleased to have over-delivered in terms of my original promise to have 26 weeks of material, each about one hour in length. The course materials are now over 100 hours in length, and I think that’s enough…
That being said, I plan to keep the Best Practices Course up to date, and will be providing an ArchiCAD 19 Upgrade lesson series through the Masters of ArchiCAD Training Series, which will be integrated into this website (at no charge for 2015 members, and a nominal charge for members who joined earlier).
Eric
Hi Eric.
Do you intend to complete point 6 to 9 under Archicad 17?
Goran – At this point, I’m not sure if I will get back to these topics for ArchiCAD 17. I had put them into the course list because they were items that I thought would be useful, however time have moved on, and I think you are the first person who has actually asked about them. Let’s see how it goes…
Eric
Hi Eric,
I am a full member of the Best Practices Course but I am not able to download the current course lessons. Please advise.
Lennox –
I think we got this resolved a while back. Let me know if you’re still having any issues.
Eric
Please ignore that question, as I have resolved.
Scott
Hi, I just purchased the course, and would like to download the course. It says to right-click on the download link, but I can’t find any download link. Can you direct me to the download link?
Scott
Eric,
I see that Week 25 only has one lesson in it, and beyond 25 there are no lessons yet. Are these works in progress? How often should I check back to get these lessons?
The Best Practices Course is still in development. Each month more lessons are being added. At the current pace, I expect to complete the main curriculum around the end of 2014.
I am delivering two live lessons each week (except for occasional breaks) and announce them via email. Please check to make sure that you are receiving these weekly emails; sometimes they get caught up in spam filter or sidetracked to a junk mail or promoted mail folder. If you can’t find them in your email system, send me a personal email or call me and we’ll figure out what’s going on; sometimes it requires using an alternate email address.
Eric
Hi, I am busy downloading the course and some files open when clicked, rather than download.
I.E. Week 8-3+4, Week 9-2 and perhaps others.
How can I get the material?
Anja – As stated in the instructions at the top of the page, simply right-click on the links and choose Save As or Save Target File As or similar (this varies by browser), rather than simply clicking on the DOWNLOAD links.
Eric
Dear Eric,
Hotlinked Modules- PLEASE GIVE DOWN LOAD OPTION
I have updated the page to include the download links for 18-4 Hotlinked Modules and 18-5 Multi-Building Projects. I apologize for not remembering to do this at the same time as I posted the lessons on their individual pages.
Eric
Hi Eric,
I signed up for 30 day access to the Best Practices Course and Getting Started Course, am I not able to download the videos? I don’t see any links under course downloads.
Thanks,
Rachael
Rachael –
Training Pass members may not download course videos. I hope you understand – if I enabled lessons to be downloaded by people who buy short term passes, then many would simply buy a pass and download everything from the website, rather than purchasing a full membership.
If you would like to purchase a full membership, please respond here or email me and I will send you a special code that will give you full credit for the amount you paid for the pass. Essentially, the training pass then becomes a down payment towards the full course.
Eric
I am the member at AMT12.
Hello 6907122 –
As an owner of AMT12, you may upgrade to MasterTemplate 17 for a discounted price (you don’t have to purchase a new license). Please login to the MasterTemplate website at http://www.actemplate.com/login and you will see a link in the left hand sidebar where you may purchase your upgrade. You’ll get complete instructions for how to migrate your current template forward, or to rework the new template with your preferred settings.

Eric:
Even after years you still come through with advice and direction to solve the use of a more and more complex program. It is true that a good mentor is worth a bunch more than the monetary investment – which is so nominal that every user should be a member of your support group.
My thanks:
