Week #27 – Collaboration
27-4. IFC: Intelligent 3D Model File Exchange with Consultants

ArchiCAD Training (Best Practices Lesson 27-4)

In this ArchiCAD training lesson we explore how to collaborate with consultants by sharing your 3D ArchiCAD model via IFC file exchange. The IFC format includes both geometry and intelligent building data, in contrast to DWG, 3DS or SKP formats which only include raw geometry and surface appearance.

This lesson was presented with guest lecturer Timothy Ball RIBA, a veteran ArchiCAD user in the UK who has been actively sharing projects with consultants using IFC.
