As with anything in life, if you want to get the benefit from something you purchase you need to maintain it. Cadimage upgrades cost 25% of the original fee, so if you spend $1000 on their products you would need to budget $250 for the upgrades each year.
I think their documentation and support has gradually gotten better over the years.

As a longtime Cadimage user (back to the Theometric days), the one downside is that everytime you upgrade ArchiCad, you also have to buy the Cadimage upgrades. If you are on an ArchiPlus subscription, that can get very expensive! Also, there is little support for older versions of the tools; bug fixes are usually only applied to the current version, and documentation for older versions is non existent. As with AC14, we are going cold turkey w/o CI…
